Josh Golden is Senior Vice President of Strategy at Capital Rx, a health technology company changing how prescription drugs are priced and patients are cared for in America. He has more than 20 years of experience as a pharmacy benefits consultant, joining Capital Rx in 2019 after strategic consulting roles at Solid Benefit Guidance (a division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.), Pharmaceutical Strategies Group, Aon Hewitt, Mercer, and Buck Consultants.
Demystifying a Notoriously Opaque Supply Chain
Josh spends most of his time helping employer plan sponsors, health plan executives, and other stakeholders understand the pharmacy benefit landscape, an industry he describes as notoriously opaque even to sophisticated buyers. His guiding principle is straightforward: health plan fiduciaries need to actually understand how the pharmacy supply chain works in order to make good decisions, so he's built a career around sharing what he's learned rather than gatekeeping it. He was named to the Class of 2024 BenefitsPRO Luminaries Awards in the Education & Communication category specifically for that work, monitoring industry trends and helping position Capital Rx's Clearinghouse Model and JUDI platform in a market still catching up to real pricing transparency.
