Closing the Skills Gap Before AI Outpaces It

Jeff describes today's core HR challenge as an "ABC to DEF" skills gap: organizations trained their workforce in the skills that used to matter, while the real demand has already shifted to a different set entirely, and most companies haven't caught up. He argues that without a cohesive plan for closing that gap through internal upskilling, organizations risk both stalled hiring and a "Shadow AI" problem, employees adopting AI tools informally and mishandling data in the process. Through ScaleHR, he now works with emerging HR, recruitment, and work-tech brands to help them get noticed and grow, and he hosts the Unmuted podcast, exploring HR and talent topics with global leaders and practitioners.

Topics Jeff speaks on

  • The AI-era skills gap in HR and recruiting
  • Building and scaling HR community events
  • HR technology marketing and go-to-market strategy
  • Avoiding "Shadow AI" through better upskilling planning
  • Workplace culture and quiet quitting
