Heather Fuqua, PHR, is Vice President of Human Resources at Tarian, a security and protective services company, where she leads HR strategy across recruiting, compliance, and workforce operations for a large, distributed frontline workforce.

Before joining Tarian, Heather held VP of Human Resources at Cushman & Wakefield in commercial real estate services, and HR director roles at the Louisville Regional Airport Authority and MKSK, an architecture, engineering, and design firm, giving her HR experience across highly regulated, physically dispersed workforces in several different industries. At Tarian specifically, she works at the intersection of HR and enterprise risk: recruiting and onboarding a large field workforce while managing the compliance layer that comes with it, including background screening, I-9/E-Verify, and immigration requirements. She's a vocal advocate for treating retention as "the new recruitment," arguing that HR functions succeed as change agents and culture shapers, not just compliance keepers.
